Pichwai is a style of Indian folk art that originated over 400 years ago in the town of Nathdwara near Udaipur, Rajasthan, India. Intricate & visually stunning, pichwai paintings are made on cloth and typically depict tales from Lord Krishna's life. The word Pichwai has its roots in the Sanskrit pich (behind) and wai (hanging). This beautiful art form has inspired many artists and designers over many many years. We at VarEesha, fell in love with the beautiful paintings and eanted to share them in our daily lives. Motivated by the most important parts of Shrinathji, like the lotus and the cow, we came up with Pichwai tableware, decoratives and wall hangings. Vibrant shades and neat outlines completed this lovely collection.
