Kimaya is a floor-length dress in 100% pure cotton, hand block printed in Kalamkari: dense paisley worked in cream against a black ground, built up in several passes with hand-carved blocks and natural dyes, so the register shifts slightly and the ink varies in density from one motif to the next. It hangs from noodle straps onto a tie-up halter neck, and the back is cut fully open and drawn together with corset lacing. A slit runs up one side for ease of movement. Garment length is 53 inches. The lacing adjusts only for a tighter fit: it can be pulled in to your shape but never let out past the size purchased, so if you are between sizes or want extra room across the bust, take the larger one. Kalamkari black bleeds on a first wash, so keep it separate and cold. Model is wearing a size XS and is 5 feet 6 inches tall.
