Aaliya is a halterneck top in 100% cotton gauze, solid ivory white with one contrast border panel running across the waist: a narrow black band carrying a small ivory leaf print, the only pattern anywhere on the piece. The front crosses over itself in a surplice wrap that ties behind the neck, and the back is left open with a tie-up fastening you set yourself. It is fitted through the bust and released towards the hem, which finishes in a deep asymmetric point rather than a straight line. Cotton gauze is a loose crinkled weave, so it is light and airy but also slightly translucent, and there is no lining. The crinkle texture means it never looks pressed, which is part of the character. Individually tailored by hand and finished ready to wear. The border band is the only printed element, and it sits exactly at the natural waist.
