Saaya is a peplum top in 100% cotton, hand block printed with a miniature floral buti in cream set in neat diagonal rows across a deep brick red ground, small enough that the cloth reads as textured from a distance. The neckline is a structured V held firm by its facing rather than falling soft, and the sleeves run full length and finish plain at the wrist. What gives it the shape is the gathered waist panel: the bodice is cut close to just under the bust, then releases into deep vertical pleats that flare out over the hip. Because every buti is stamped by hand the rows drift slightly and the ink varies from motif to motif. Cotton this fine stays breathable through a long afternoon. Individually tailored by hand and finished ready to wear. There is no lining, and the pleats are stitched down rather than pressed in.
