Khawaab is a short halterneck kurti in modal, hand block printed with a traditional Ajrak pattern in black and ivory on a deep red ground, the fine leaf-and-vine repeat that Ajrak is known for covering the cloth edge to edge. The halter ties behind the neck, the body is cut close through the bust and waist, and the open back is drawn together with a laced corset panel you tighten to your own shape. Side slits at the hem keep it easy over trousers. Modal drapes softer and heavier than cotton and holds a deep colour without going chalky, which is why a red this saturated looks right on it. Ajrak is printed in several passes by hand, so registration varies slightly across each piece. Individually tailored by hand and finished ready to wear. Modal also resists creasing better than cotton, so it travels well and needs little pressing.
