Dhun is a halterneck top in cotton bandhani, where the pattern is tied and dyed rather than printed: the cloth is knotted in thousands of tiny points before dyeing, and each knot resists the black to leave a small yellow or white dot behind. That is why the dots sit slightly irregularly and no two pieces match exactly. It ties behind the neck and again at the back, and a second pair of ties runs down the centre front so you set the fit across the bust yourself and leave as much or as little of the midriff open as you like. The back is bare. Being cotton it stays breathable despite being close-fitting, and bandhani black softens with washing rather than going flat. Individually tailored by hand and finished ready to wear. There is no lining, and the cotton is opaque enough that it does not need one.
