The Paisley pattern in Jamawar fabrics often referred to as “Boteh” design, is a distinctive and iconic element frequently found in Jamawar fabrics. The paisley pattern is characterized by its unique shape, which resembles a teardrop or a curved, elongated leaf. This shape is often intricately woven throughout the fabric. The pattern in this shawl is oriented precisely in different shapes along with vines and flower patterns. This pattern has a rich history and is believed to have originated in Persia (Iran). It was introduced to the Indian subcontinent, particularly Kashmir, where it became an integral part of Jamawar weaving.
