Pasta-Bilities Matte Black Pasta Bowl

The Pasta-bilities is a wide flat ceramic pasta bowl in matte black twenty-four centimetres across, six deep, with a generous low rim. The proportions are the classic pasta-plate shape: wide enough to spread out a single serving, deep enough to hold sauce. The volume reads as 200ml because the rim sits low this is a bowl for plated portions, not for soup. Spaghetti laid out in long strands, ravioli in a single layer, risotto with room to swirl. The wide flat base lets sauce pool around the pasta rather than soak through it. The matte black absorbs light evenly. White pasta against the matte black is the whole point the bowl recedes, the food takes the eye. Gloss would have created highlights that competed with the dish; matte stays out of the way. A note on how it's made. Each bowl is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand. Small variations in glaze depth and rim curve are part of how a handmade ceramic looks.
