Oh Deer! Multicolor Figurines

Oh Deer! is a set of three ceramic deer in different poses - one grazing, one alert, one resting. The colours run red, white, and black. Three different shapes, three different glazes, one cohesive family. The contrast across the set is the point - they're designed to be displayed together, lined up on a shelf or a console where their differences read as conversation between the pieces. Each one is solid stoneware, finished by hand. Slight variations in glaze and shaping are part of how the set comes off the wheel. Stoneware, fired hot. Sculptural enough to hold a corner of a room. A note on how it was made Handmade in a network of skilled artisan studios. The shaping and glazing is done by hand, one piece at a time. No two sets are quite the same. That's how you know they were made.
