Matte Black Serving Bowl

The Matte Black Serving Bowl is a 1-litre ceramic bowl finished in deep matte black across the entire body, inside and out. Twenty centimetres across, eight tall the proportions of a generous family-style serving bowl. Where the Cosmic Ring sibling has raised concentric rings pressed into the surface, the Matte Black is plain. No texture, no pattern, no break in the colour. The whole point is the depth of the black: a finish that absorbs light evenly and lets the food in the bowl be the only thing the eye reads. One litre is the size for a single served dish at the centre of a table a full pasta for four, a salad for the table, a dal that gets passed around. The flat base sits stably on a counter or a placemat. A note on how it's made. Each bowl is shaped, glazed, and finished by hand. Small variations in glaze depth and rim curve are part of how a handmade ceramic looks.
