The GEL-KAYANO 28 AWL (All Winter Long) running shoe's design focus improves stability while creating an even softer and smoother ride. Functional for overpronators seeking a stable long-distance running style, we reconstructed the midsole foam to equip the shoe with better cushioning properties and a more responsive toe-off. Featuring a water-resistant upper and added reflective accents for improved visibility when running in low-light conditions, this shoe is also complemented with a toggle speed lace system. Reinforced with a lower-profile external heel counter to increase heel stability, this component also offers a better rearfoot fit. Additionally, the outsole provides better grip in cold and wet conditions thanks to its snow rubber and lug configuration.We integrate a DYNAMIC DUOMAX support system on the inside of the midsole to improve stability and keep the foot from rolling inward too much (overpronate) when the foot reaches mid-stance. Building on its long-standing stability traits, designers evolved the tooling with a gender-specific 3D SPACE CONSTRUCTION feature that helps runners compress the foam more appropriately and experience a more stable ride.Featuring our FLYTEFOAM Blast cushioning material for a more energetic rebound during the toe-off stage, we also redesigned the shape of the GEL technology unit and heel bevel. The result yields better heel balance and lower deceleration values to keep you focused on maintaining your speed. Complemented with a full-ground contact outsole design, this application helps runners distribute their weight more evenly during landings to create a smoother roll throughout their gait.
