Your guide to Navratri Style With its nine colours

by Shubham Ladha

This year, on the 5th of October, Navratri will start to be celebrated across India. While the festival marks the worship of goddess Durga, the festival will also be celebrated with special foods, dancing with dandiyas and following the special colour theme, of wearing 9 different colours on 9 different days. The significance of these colours varys on the basis of the days, but it is believed that when worn, these colours bring prosperity, blessings and good luck.
The colours, namely orange, white, red, royal blue, yellow, green, grey and purple, are worn in this order, one for each of the 9 days. And to help you frolic during the festivities carefree, we have hand-picked a curation of outfits from Nykaa Fashion which offer festive outfits and accessories, all the right mix of traditional and contemporary. Scroll on to have a look!

Start the celebrations off with orange, which is symbolic of energy and happiness. We have chosen this traditional chiffon Bandhani saree for its vibrancy. It features green and red patterns and a thin gold border for finishing touches. We suggest pairing it with these gold flats, metallic clutch and brass earrings for the orange to stand out and the metallic colours to complement each other.
