Done With Denim? Here’s What You Can Try For Winter Instead

by Synjini Nandi

Full disclosure: I am not one of those people who live in their denims; especially since I have always felt a strong affinity towards dresses (in every shape and form). However once winter rolls in, I always reach for my trusty denims and jacket duo. This year though, I am determined to wear dresses and combat the chill in style. So, last week I made it my life’s mission to find some of the best winter dresses that would keep me toasty—plus, also make for a gorgeous cold-weather look. From casual hot-chocolate dates, intimate dinner parties to your morning zoom meetings, check out these fabulous dresses that will banish off those winter blues in a snap!

PS: Just add tights, scarves, and boots for a chic winter-ready look.

Turtleneck Dress – Gap, 3,999

I love the refreshing pop color that will stand out amongst the sea of blacks, whites and greys. Plus, the length is great for boots.

Olive Sweater Dress – Twenty Dresses by Nykaa Fashion, 3,195

The perfect sheath dress is so hard to find sometimes, but you can’t go wrong with this one. I love the bell sleeves; and the fact that it can be cinched at the waist with a statement belt to give it a glam update.

Maroon Velvet Dress – Emblaze, 4,000

I love the edgy cuts on this one, which can lend itself to any holiday event. Just throw on a faux fur coat and lace tights for some extra winter armour.

Ariana Knit Dress – Forever New, 6,600

This one’s perfect for an intimate house party. While it’s form fitting, it’s also stretchy and super comfortable to move in. Complete the look with strappy heels and pearl hoops.

Shirt Dress – Vero Moda, 2,799

I love a great shirtdress for fall and winter. It can work for the office, it can work for a date, and it can almost work wine-hour too.

Ruched High Low Dress – Kaanchie Nanggia, 2,500

This stylish velvet dress can keep you warm all season long and can be paired with a chic gilet to add an extra dash of style.

Jersey Midi Dress – Femella, 2,099

I love a breezy dress that can keep me warm and hide all my holiday weight. Even better, I can wear all year round; once the weather warms up again, I will swap out my boots for strappy sandals or sneakers.

Ikat Silk Blend Dress – Okhai, 2,500

You need this silk dress for winter Sunday brunches, when the weather isn’t too chilly. I like to style with some gold jewels and oversized sunnies for an afternoon-out in town.

Hoodie Sweatshirt Dress – Femella, 1,999

I could live in cosy sweatshirt dresses all winter. Pair this with your favourite white sneaker for your morning coffee run or with black combat boots for some last minute gift shopping.
