A Nykaa Fashion insider on how she keeps her traditional wear from collecting dust

Whenever I’ve invested in an overly ornate kurta or lehenga, I’ve found that it winds up collecting dust until the next round of festivities kick in or a close friend’s wedding comes around. So, to keep that from happening, I now look for ethnic essentials armed with one crucial question: Is there a way that I can seamlessly incorporate them into my everyday wardrobe? And this is what has resulted in the round-up below. While you might already be familiar with kurtas that look just as good with distressed denim as they do with dhoti pants, there’s also the kind that are long (and pretty) enough to double up as maxi dresses for Sunday brunch with the girls. The trick to putting your palazzos to good use? Look for ones that come with contemporary prints like stripes and squares so that you can wear them with crisp button-downs or even camisoles.
