Modern Jewellery Pieces For The Festive Months That Are Worth The Investment

by Lakshmi Nayar

I love a good clash. Let me explain. When it comes to styling jewelry with festive clothing, I usually derail from the conventional route of partnering my outfits with pieces that traditionally sync with the festive aesthetic. While the choices may typically include a touch of meenakari or kundan, I personally avoid going for the obvious and instead try something a a bit more experimental. That said, from Masaba and Varnika Arora to Valliyan and AMAMA, I’ve listed a few of my favorite labels (that craft modern pieces of jewellery) that I’ve bookmarked for the festive months. Ahead, a few selects that are worth a closer look.

Gold Ring By Masaba
Inspired by the popular fantasy drama television series Game Of Thrones, Masaba’s beautifully crafted set of gold plated rings (coined as the Winter Is Coming Gold Ring) is honestly one of my favorite pieces from this collection. You could wear this versatile piece with your ethnic clothes and casuals.

VARNIKA ARORA, Rs.3,700
Golden Earrings By Varnika Arora
This pair by Varnika Arora is very different from most gold plated earrings in the market. I like its simplicity the most. The geometric design gives this piece a futuristic look and also elevates any festive outfit as soon as you throw them on. I’d wear them with a gold saree and clear heels, if you ask me.

Pipa Bella, Rs.743
Who doesn’t love a good pair of crystal drop earrings, right? This radiant pair by Pipa Bella could go with everything from a cocktail dress to an anarkali set, thanks to the structure and color of earrings. It also makes for a fantastic gifting option.

Valliyan, Rs.18,500
Confession. This piece by Valliyan is my favorite from the list. Designed with 18 Karat gold and metallic rings, this egyptian crossover necklace caught my attention in the middle of a thousand recommendations online. It’s experimental, different and extremely edgy. I’d wear this with any solid colored outfits to give my outfit a pop of color.

AMAMA, Rs.3,000
I love dramatic jewelry and this pair by AMAMA gives me just that. It’s vintage, charming and almost majestic. Crafted with exquisite beads and slim tassels, I’d wear this beautiful piece with a chikankari kurta, palazzo pants and heels. Heck, I’d even wear it to the grocery store.
