‘Saksham & Neharicka’ is a namesake label started by designer duo Saksham and Neharicka. Hailing from two different parts of the country, Kolkata and Mathura, the two designers take inspiration from their hometown as well as the modern youth.
After studying design at Pearl Academy, New Delhi, and NIFT, Kangra respectively, Saksham and Neharicka realised that they could express themselves through fashion. Having admitted to being introverts, the duo felt like fashion would be a great medium through which they could express their thoughts. Apart from this, their work experience with famous brands like AM-PM and Fab India gave them the confidence to start their own label.
The ‘Saksham & Neharicka’ brand is a beautiful amalgamation of the rich Indian heritage and the influence that the British invasion has had on us. Eye-catching colours, exquisite embroidery, and rich fabrics are trademarks of the designer duo. Their label offers a wide range of clothing- sarees, sharara sets, pant sets, kurtas, and lehengas among others.
Saksham and Neharicka aim to maintain extremely high-quality standards and create heirloom pieces that their clients would like to pass on to later generations. They tend to take inspiration from the people on the streets of India, places, books and movies. They create designs keeping in mind the modern millennial woman- a woman who is Indian in her soul and global in her choices.
One of their collections, ‘Murtaza’, is inspired by Islamic art. The collection includes printed kurta sets, tunics, lehengas and sarees in printed chanderi, cotton silk and cotton lurex. Their outfits have been worn by celebrities like Vidya Balan, Kajal Aggarwal and Rajkummar Rao.
The duo is currently exploring international markets, having held a successful exhibition in Dubai.
