What’s better than one wedding? Two picture-perfect ceremonies, say Priyanka Chopra (@priyankachopra) and Nick Jonas (@nickjonas). Head to Vogue.in for a closer look at the couple’s wedding looks. A post shared by VOGUE India (@vogueindia) on

The festivities begin with a traditional Indian mehendi ceremony where Priyanka and Nick got henna tattoos, sipped on mocktails and enjoyed traditional Indian wedding songs along with the guests. While Priyanka adorned a kitschy lehenga featuring a pastiche of colours and pure gota patti by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Nick picked an ivory and gold traditional kurta and pyjama for the event.Priyanka completed the look with precious heirloom jewellery by Saboo at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, a braided hairdo with floral arrangements and bare dewy makeup.

What followed was a full-blown Bollywood style sangeet ceremony where the Jonas’ crooned to their globally coveted music and later the guests shimmied to Bollywood wedding tunes with the bride and groom in tow. Priyanka picked a lustrous gold and silver sequined saree by Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla and accessorized it with intricate jewellery featuring marquise diamonds by Saboo at Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla. Nick pulled off a classic midnight blue sherwani with silk thread detailing by the same designer with unmatched aplomb.

Coming to piéce de resistance of this fairy tale affair, the couple tied the knot in custom Ralph Lauren wedding ensembles. We were smitten by Priyanka’s strapless sequin embellished column gown with an overlay coat featuring hand-embroidery, a high-neck, scalloped sleeves and satin-covered buttons. What stood out for us though was that her gown carried eight significant phrases denoting ‘Family’, ‘Hope’ and ‘Compassion’ among others. Her veil, however, was the one to make headlines as it was seventy-five feet long!

Nick on the other hand adorned a Purple Label double breasted tuxedo with a piece of the bride’s dress, hand-embroidered with the Urdu words for ‘My Life’ at the interior lapel of his jacket just over his heart– now that’s one sweet gesture to die for!

On the following day, a proper Hindu nuptial ensued where Priyanka looked every bit a queen in a custom siren red lehenga by Sabyasachi. Her ensemble boasted hand-embroidered and hand-cut organza flowers, French knots in silk floss, delicate Siam-red crystals and a hundred and ten embroideries from Calcutta making it an extremely intricate and rare work of couture. It took 3720 painstaking hours for the artisans to craft this masterpiece. To add to this, her jewellery paid homage to Mughal jewellery featuring uncut diamonds, emeralds and Japanese cultured diamonds in 22 karat gold.

For Nick, a hand-quilted silk sherwani with a hand-embroidered chikan dupatta by Sabyasachi sealed the deal. He also adorned a chanderi silk safa which is typically an ornament of the Indian groom. The rose cut kalgi and Syndicate diamond necklace from Sabyasachi’s Heritage Jewellery collection completed his Hindu avatar.

The affair culminated with a reception for friends and dignitaries in New Delhi, where the bride and groomed were dressed by couturiers Falguni Shane Peacock. Priyanka’s custom lehenga took eighty craftsman and twelve thousand hours of manpower to create – talk about big fat Indian weddings!
