Round The Clock With Fashion Content Creator Ishi Raghuvanshi

by Lakshmi Nayar

Ishi Raghuvanshi is a woman of ambition. An ambition to create robust content that centres around fashion and the human mind (more on this below), growing exponentially in the public eye. Her persona shines through her impressive feed and my observation states that her community resonates with her very distinctive creative language and style. If you follow Raghuvanshi, you’d know that she is currently a content creator on the rise, conquering the digital fashion space that has garnered a loyal community following.

Moving to some good news, I got a chance to catch up with the twenty two year old content creator this month, admitting hard work and attention to detail being her key focus points that drive her page to what it is today. Ahead, Raghuvanshi speaks to Nykaa Fashion on everything from what her typical Monday looks like to her personal style, her favorite Indian labels, what she’s currency reading and more.

1. What is the most challenging thing about being a content creator during a time when the digital world is growing exponentially.
Raghuvanshi: Yes, there are definitely a lot of challenges that content creators face, especially now. A lot of us made use of this time to really step back and think about the kind of content we want to create for the users. Just started being more conscious which according to me is a good thing. It did hit us hard for a bit with collaboration opportunities but now it’s finally picking up it’s momentum again.
2. Take us through a typical day in the life of Ishi Raghuvanshi
Raghuvanshi: I currently live with my parents in Indore. I also have my grandmother living with me and I actually spend more time with her.I So, when I wake up in the morning I basically like to start slow. Music is a really important part of my life, so I listen to gospel sometimes or anything that syncs with my mood right after I wake up. After that I make myself some breakfast. I then chat with my nani for sometime and move to my emails and calls. I always make sure I reflect on my yesterday for a bit and slowly move to what I have to do for the day which mainly involves content designing and by that I mean building a corner, shadow or a wall into a geometry or something creative. Post that I start shooting. My sister helps me alot, she’s literally my photographer. I have also recently started reading, so I pick up a book in the evening and read for a few hours before I hit the bed.
3. Your Instagram bio that reads, ‘Out here trying to live out this madness called life (well dressed of course)’.Can you tell us a little bit about what that line indicates?
Raghuvanshi: Sure. It has two verticals. One is life and the other is basically how I present myself through my page, which is through the content that I post. Whether you’re a mother, a sister, a daughter, a working woman or a content creator, everybody has multiple verticals in their lives. And when you mix these verticals, it can sometime turn into madness. Most often a beautiful mess. Coming to being well-dressed, it just helps. Obviously. Laughs. So it’s just really a mix of both.
4. What are you currently reading?
Raghuvanshi: I’m currently reading Discourses on tantra by Shri Shri Anandamurti. I have always been drawn to books on human psychology as well. That’s what actually brought me to Instagram. I created a handle to speak a language of fashion meets creativity to ultimately study the user’s response.
5. Describe your still in two words
Raghuvanshi: It’s a mix of feminine and edgy.
6. What’s a complete no-no when it comes to fashion?
Raghuvanshi: I’m not a huge fan of wedges and shoulder pads.
7. A fashion trend that you’re currently loving?
Raghuvanshi: Oooh, I’m obsessed with false leather at the moment. I have a leather coat, pants, joggers, shirt, boots. Every variation you could possibly think of!
8. If you had to put a look together for a wedding function at the last minute, what would do?
Raghuvanshi: Oh, this has happened to me multiple times. A pair of palazzo pants and a kurta. Also, I think it’s always good to have a few fancy broad belts and dupattas. They can really maximize your entire look. And I always accessorize to polish the look. Another variation I would try is pairing my palazzo pants with a crop top and ghagra and maybe a choker.
9. Who is your fashion inspiration?
Raghuvanshi: Ivona Zupet. I love her feed. I also really like Hailey Bieber. Her style is just amazing. She’s killing it. I wake up every morning and look forward to her posts. She’s always on point.
10. Five pieces of clothing you cannot live without?
Raghuvanshi: A really good robe, a black oversized blazer, a pair of white sneakers, a slit dress and a pair of denims.
11. If you could swap your life with anyone, who would it be?
Raghuvanshi: Oooh, David Icke.
12. According to you, what are the top accessories that every woman must own?
Raghuvanshi: A classic gold chain, a good watch and for the third option I’m going to move to beauty and say a solid lip color.
13. If you could only wear one Indian designer for the rest of your life, who would it be?
Raghuvanshi: If we’re talking Indian then Shantanu and Nikhil. If I had to pick for something more casual it’s got to be Demi By Gabriella.
14. What about international?
Raghuvanshi: Easy. Versace.
15. Finally, do you have a message for our readers?
Raghuvanshi: Sure. Guys, it’s not as easy as it seems. Being a content creator is a hard job and if you want to be one, you need to ask yourself if it’s really what you want to do or if you’re doing it because someone else’s doing it. Stay positive, focused and happy. Lot’s of love.
